GPs' views on the content and quality of psychiatrists' clinic letters

Abstract: Effective communication with other health professionals is extremely important in psychiatry and helps improve the quality of patient care. To assess the current standard, the authors audited the quality of psychiatrists' letters to GPs about patients in out – patient psychiatric care in the Heart of Birmingham and obtained feedback from the GPs on the content and quality of these letters.
