GPS signal acquisition via folding and compressive sensing

Abstract: For fast acquisition of GPS pseudo-noise (PN) code, folding is often used to speed up the search process. By properly incorporating the folding in the compressive sensing (CS) framework, a new low-complexity GPS signal acquisition scheme is proposed. In the CS reconstruction step, a new method is proposed termed projection elimination (PE) algorithm, which has lower computational complexity and nearly the same performance compared to the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm for very sparse signals.
