“…We test our proposed hypotheses using university students from three private Malaysian universities. We focussed on private universities in Malaysia for the following reasons Firstly, as a middle-income economy, Malaysia has a vibrant university sector (Looi and Maritz, 2021), thus competition among universities for students is relatively high, with many institutions choosing to differentiate themselves from others by offering unique programmes for students.
