“…The significantly higher post‐operative haemoglobin and haematocrit levels recorded by us in the triptorelin compared with the immediate surgery group are related to the higher pre‐operative values induced by three months of amenorrhoea. The normalisation of haematologic indexes in anaemic subjects constitutes another advantage of pre‐operative GnRH agonist administration 15,17,18,27,28 , although similar results might be obtained with simple iron supplementation to patients while on the waiting list 29 .
