Gordonia jinghuaiqii sp. nov. and Gordonia zhaorongruii sp. nov., isolated from Tibetan Plateau wildlife

Abstract: Four mesophilic and Gram-stain-positive strains (zg-686T/zg-691 and HY186T/HY189) isolated from Tibetan Plateau wildlife (PR China) belong to the genus Gordonia according to 16S rRNA gene and genomic sequence-based phylogenetic/genomic results. They have a DNA G+C content range of 67.4–68.3 mol% and low DNA relatedness (19.2–27.6 %) with all available genomes in the genus Gordo… Show more

“…S3). In general, the chemotaxonomic properties of this isolate were in good agreement with those of Gordonia strains [1,14,54], including those classified previously as N. amarae [7,8]. To this end, isolate CON9 T produced meso-A 2 pm as the diamino acid of the peptidoglycan, arabinose, galactose and ribose as whole-organism sugars, and a polar lipid pattern composed of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phoshphatidylinositol and phosphatidylinositol mannosides (Fig.…”

“…The members are Gram-stain-positive, non-sporulating, non-motile, aerobic coccus or rod-shaped bacteria, with MK-9(H 2 ) or MK-9(H 4 ) as the major menaquinone, meso-diaminopimelic acid (meso-DAP) as the diamino acid of the peptidoglycan, and fatty acid patterns consisting of nonbranched saturated acids or additional tuberculostearic acid. Among the various sources of origin, several members of this taxon were isolated from clinical specimens [2][3][4][5] and might be considered as opportunistic pathogens, but most were isolated from the environment, including soil [6,7], faeces [8], water [9], sediment [10] and sludge [11]. Some environmental isolates were capable of producing secondary metabolites [12], such as natural rubber [13], benzothiophene [14] and pigment production [15].…”
