Gold Nanosweepers (AuNSs): A Novel Application of PEGylated AuNPs

Abstract: Simple PEGylated-AuNPs are prepared by a modified Turkevich method, followed with thiolate–mPEG ligand substitution. These widely used AuNPs are first investigated as a “gold nanosweeper” (AuNS) to remove the “dust” (acrylamide) both in hydrophobic and aqueous media.
