Gold nanoparticles size distribution by pulsed laser varying the wavelength

Abstract: In this work the influence of the wavelength variation of a pulsed laser on the size distribution of gold nanoparticles, synthesized by laser ablation in liquid medium, was determined, since this technique is the most used due to its simplicity as it is not developed under strict conditions of temperature, pressure, agitation, etc. Three different wavelengths were used: (i) 532 nm, (ii) 355 nm and (iii) 266 nm, due to equipment restrictions. The distributions and sizes of nanoparticles were studied by dynamic … Show more

“…Therefore, based on the previous statements, we tried to produce gold nanoparticles with a spherical morphology and size under 1000 nm, so that these Au NPs were incrusted inside the micropores produced by the characteristic hydration process, which takes place in the cement matrix, as well as diminishing the adverse effects on the mechanical properties on the cement-based composite [32]. In this sense, the concentrations used were the consequence of searching for the best conditions to produce gold nanoparticles of low sizes and proper geometry, as reported previously by Arevalo and coauthors [33].…”

“…XPS spectra is shown in Figure 5c, revealing two peaks for 4f gold with the binding energy for elemental old, at 84.22 and 87 eV, which is in good agreement with the binding energy for gold in the literature. [39][40][41]…”
