This process was amazingly enlightening. I started this program as a professional that is interested in the effects of trauma on the climate and culture of a classroom, and I am finishing this program as a professional deeply dedicated to equipping and empowering educators to support students that have endured traumatic experiences. And I did not do this alone. My community empowered me to learn, connect, and build, and I intend to use my information to support all educators. I want to thank Dr. Ewell for taking my on as an advisee. I have learned a tremendous amount from her as she continuously met with me, supported me, and responded to my late night emails. I appreciate her support that was empowering and empathetic as I dealt with various personal issues. I would also like to acknowledge Dr. Unger for his support and critical analysis to further my writing and research. In addition, I would like to thank Dr. Darlene Breaux for engaging in dissertation process. I appreciate her words to push my thinking and writing forward.I want to thank my mom, Debra Blake, for her unwavering support and constant cheering. Without you, this would not be possible. I would like to thank my dad, Sean Blake, for his continued pride in my educational path. Last, but not least, I would like to thank my friend and doctoral colleague, McAllister Collins, for his cheerleading, coaching, and supporting my journey in this process.
