Abstract

Thank you most of all to Dr. Kate Birney, my primary thesis advisor. Thank you for all of your interest and contagious enthusiasm, your excitement helped me keep going. Thank you for all your help in finding new avenues of research. Thank you for pushing me to write more, and write better. Thank you for your patient guidance.
