Background: Requirement elicitation is the first step for any project. The available BI requirement elicitation approaches are focused more towards: the top pyramid of the management, less focus on the business aspect of an organization, historical in nature, emphasis on data mining and data warehousing aspects, no clear separation between requirements, and lack of proper linkage between the requirements. The demand of BI shifts towards the operational front for last couple of years. The use of Operational BI is gaining more popularity among industry and business communities because of increased demand of real time BI. It provides a powerful analysis of both operational and business information in current time for all levels of the users in the organization.Objective: In the modern business environment, the business operates on networks that demands multi-level decision-making capabilities as compared to the traditional business approaches. Operational BI is one of the business information systems that support the modern business environment and provides timely decision-making information to all the users in the organization. The requirement elicitation methodology for Operational BI system is found open for research. A new approach for requirement elicitation for an Operational BI system is presented in this paper, which highly suits to the organizations in the modern business environment.Methods: A top down technique is employed in the proposed requirements methodology that focuses on the business context of an organization. The proposed requirement elicitation approach is highly suited for the organizations that operate in the modern business environment. This approach overcomes several limitations in the existing BI requirement approaches. A case study is presented to support the proposed requirement elicitation approach for OBI system.Conclusion: This approach has several advantages like fast development, clear definition, classification of various types of requirements and proper linkage between the requirements without any loss or missing of gathering requirements. This paper presents a method for specifying requirements, applied to the operation of a microgrid. The challenge is to model Smart Grid systems requirements using formal methods based on schematic representations that will allows analysis, verification and validation, improving the reliability and performance of the design cycle. Considering the inherent complexity of these systems-generally heterogeneous, open and distributedformal modeling is a key issue for the design of automated electrical systems to fit user experience expectations. In this article we propose a systemic approach that combines consolidated reference architectures and modern goal-oriented requirements engineering methods in the early steps of microgrid design. The formalism proposed is intended to obtain formal requirements models associated with standards and reference models proposed and accepted by the scientific and practitioner community.

Em uma organização, a área de Tecnologia da Informação deve dar suporte às demais, possibilitando o alinhamento entre as decisões e as ações, a fim de atender aos objetivos almejados. A proposta deste trabalho é investigar a realidade da Gestão Estratégica de TI nos Institutos Federais de Educação, através da verificação de como os gestores dessa área elaboram e mantém um planejamento estratégico, partindo do pressuposto de que eles enfrentam dificuldades devido à falta de alinhamento e planejamento da área com os objetivos estratégicos institucionais. Em termos metodológicos, trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa no que concerne às características e ao modo de investigação. A base desse estudo foi feita pelo levantamento de dados de pesquisas realizados pelo Tribunal de Contas da União, pela percepção dos gestores de TI e por documentos disponibilizados pelos Institutos Federais. Os dados analisados permitiram que os autores confirmassem seus pressupostos, mas que esse já é um tema de importância reconhecida entre os gestores que procuram meios de propiciar o fortalecimento da gestão estratégica e da governança de TI.
