GnRh Agonist Treatment Improves Implantation and Pregnancy Rates of Frozen–Thawed Embryos Transfer

Abstract: Objective To study the effect of GnRh agonist administration prior to estrogen-progesterone preparation of the endometrium on the implantation rate in frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) cycles in infertile patients treated with IVF/ICSI.Design Prospective controlled study. Setting Private center in Alexandria, Egypt. Patients Patients undergoing frozen-thawed embryo transfer FET. Intervention(s) Patients were divided into two groups, A and B. Group A patients consisted of 110 patients (110 cycles) who receive… Show more

“…Several studies claimed no difference in pregnancy outcomes between HRT and HRT with GnRHa pretreatment, 7 9 and other prospective studies showed that pregnancy outcomes were significantly improved by GnRHa pretreatment in HRT cycles. 10 , 11 We therefore retrospectively analyzed the outcomes of patients treated with FET cycles in our reproductive center and compared outcomes between HRT and HRT + GnRHa cycles.…”

“…In a study by Niu et al [13], clinical pregnancy, implantation, and ongoing pregnancy rates were signi cantly higher in women who were pretreated with GnRH-a than in those who were not. Hebisha et al [14] reported a signi cant increase in the implantation and pregnancy rates when GnRH-a was administered prior to estrogen-progesterone preparation of the endometrium in FET compared to when it was not. These studies indicate some bene cial effects of GnRH-a therapy in women with adenomyosis, including a potential for improved implantation.…”

“…Moreover, selective FET was reported to have better pregnancy outcomes than fresh ET in thin endometrium [9]. Proper endometrial preparation plays a key role to maximize IVF success rate and improve pregnancy results [10][11][12]. Therefore, we conducted a retrospective study to explore whether there is a best endometrial preparation protocol for IUAs.…”
