Abstract:Eukaryotic cell glycosphingolipids (GSLs) are central components of membrane lipid microdomains that function as trans plasmamembrane signaling foci. GSLs serve as important receptors and coreceptors, primarily to mediate host/microbial pathogen interactions, and undergo unique intracellular trafficking pathways.
