Glycated Proteins in Elderly Type II Diabetic Patients: Role of Age and Serum Protein Concentration

Abstract: In an attempt to evaluate the clinical significance of fructosamine (F) and glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) values in elderly diabetic patients, 49 patients with mean age 72.0 years and 58 patients with mean age 51.6 years (control group) were studied. No difference was found in F and HbA1c between the two groups, when the degree and duration of glycaemic failure was equal.
