Glutamine Preserves Liver Glutathione After Lethal Hepatic Injury

Abstract: Glutathione (GSH) is a major antioxidant that protects tissues from free radical injury. Glutamine augments host defenses and may be important in GSH synthesis. Acetaminophen toxicity causes hepatic GSH depletion and hepatic necrosis.
