Abstract:Objective: Protein ingestion stimulates β-cell secretion and alters glucose flux. Enhanced action of glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and increased plasma glucose excursion contribute to prandial hyperinsulinemia after gastric bypass surgery (GB) and sleeve gastrectomy (SG).
