Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the five fundamental principles of Islam, and it is obligatory for healthy Muslim adults and adolescents. During the fasting month, Muslims usually have two meals a day, suhur (before dawn) and iftar (after dusk). However, diabetic patients may face difficulties when fasting, so it is important for medical staff to educate them on safe fasting practices. Prolonged strict fasting can increase the risk of hypoglycemia and diabetic ketoacidosis, but with proper knowledge, careful planning, and medication adjustment, diabetic Muslim patients can fast during Ramadan. For this review, a literature search was conducted using PubMed and Google Scholar until May 2023. Articles other than the English language were excluded. Current strategies for managing blood sugar levels during Ramadan include a combination of patient education on nutrition, regular monitoring of blood glucose, medications, and insulin therapy. Insulin therapy can be continued during fasting if properly titrated to the patients’ needs, and finger prick blood sugar levels should be assessed regularly. If certain symptoms such as hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, dehydration, or acute illness occur, or blood glucose levels become too high (> 300 mg/dL) or too low (70 mg/dL), the fast should be broken. New insulin formulations such as pegylated insulin and medications like tirzepatide, a dual agonist of gastric-inhibitory peptideand glucagonlike-peptide 1 receptors, have shown promise in managing blood sugar levels during Ramadan. Non-insulin-dependent medications like sodium-glucose-cotransporter-2 inhibitors, including the Food and Drug Administration-approved ertugliflozin, are also being used to provide additional cardiovascular benefits in patients with type 2 diabetes.

In the post-COVID-19 era, academic papers on changing financial investment habits are proliferating rapidly as the pandemic has disrupted economic and financial markets, altered investment decisions, and brought new risks and challenges. In addition to traditional market instruments such as gold, oil, and other commodities, cryptocurrencies have attracted new attention due to their dynamic and decentralized nature in these extraordinary times, which must be constantly analyzed from different angles. This paper aims to analyze the evolving academic interest in the adoption of cryptocurrencies for investment decisions, focusing on research papers published in the Scopus database between 2020 and 2023 through bibliometric analysis. The Scopus database provides high-quality publications that have been peer-reviewed and rigorously scrutinized, and the chosen time period corresponds exactly to the period that was sufficient to provide a significant amount of research. The choice of bibliometric research methodology supported our research question and significantly improved our understanding of the relationship between the rise in financial market usage related to COVID-19. The specific focus of this research shows a significant correlation between COVID-19 and cryptocurrencies as an investment option, as evidenced by the increasing number of academic papers and collaboration between numerous countries and institutions. The analysis of the bibliometric research results underlines the increasing importance of cryptocurrencies as alternative investment opportunities in the financial markets. A remarkable interest in this area can be observed globally, with leading countries such as China, India, the USA, the UK, and Malaysia driving research efforts. Through the use of bibliometric analysis, this study encourages cross-border collaboration and highlights the academic recognition of cryptocurrencies as viable investment opportunities in the international financial landscape. Investors, researchers, and policymakers are interested in the growing recognition of cryptocurrencies as a viable investment opportunity, which is reflected in increasing research collaborations and investment opportunities. These trends highlight the evolving landscape of financial markets and regulatory considerations.

Tumor dormancy continues to be a research hotspot with numerous pressing problems that need to be solved. The goal of this study is to perform a bibliometric analysis of pertinent articles published in the twenty-first century. We concentrate on significant keywords, nations, authors, affiliations, journals, and literature in the field of tumor dormancy, which will help researchers to review the results that have been achieved and better understand the directions of future research. We retrieved research articles on tumor dormancy from the Web of Science Core Collection. This study made use of the visualization tools VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Scimago Graphica, as visualization helps us to uncover the intrinsic connections between information. Research on tumor dormancy has been growing in the 21st century, especially from 2015 to the present. The United States is a leader in many aspects of this research area, such as in the number of publications, the number of partners, the most productive institutions, and the authors working in this field. Harvard University is the institution with the highest number of publications, and Aguirre-Ghiso, Julio A. is the author with the highest number of publications and citations. The keywords that emerged after 2017 were “early dissemination”, “inhibition”, “mechanism”, “bone metastasis”, and “promotion”. We believe that research on tumor dormancy mechanisms and therapy has been, and will continue to be, a major area of interest. The exploration of the tumor dormancy microenvironment and immunotherapeutic treatments for tumor dormancy is likely to represent the most popular future research topics.
