Global parameterization of $$\pi \pi $$ scattering up to 2 $${\mathrm {\,GeV}}$$

Abstract: We provide global parameterizations of scattering S0 and P partial waves up to roughly 2 GeV for phenomenological use. These parameterizations describe the output and uncertainties of previous partial-wave dispersive analyses of , both in the real axis up to 1.12 and in the complex plane within their applicability region, while also fulfilling forward dispersion relations up to 1.43 . Above that energy we just describe the available experimental data. Moreover, the analytic continuations of these global para… Show more

“…Also we have no possible absorptive corrections in the pion-pion final elastic channel, since the central mass is low, and also there is a lack of data on this process to define parameters of the model. Nevertheless we will consider these corrections in further works, as it was done by some authors recently [23], since they could play significant role for masses less than 1 GeV.…”

“…Possible final pion-pion interaction is not shown, since we neglect it in the present calculations. But some authors [23] have proposed recently such a parametrization for low energy. RB and PB cases of Fig.…”

“…The most common meson-meson interactions are ππ and Kπ . In these two cases, the total cross sections are found using the calculations of Peláez et al [56][57][58]. Below 1.42 GeV for ππ and below 1.8 GeV for Kπ , values of the total cross sections have been tabulated and are found We see that resonances exist for π + π − and K + π − , but not for π + π + and K + π + .…”

“…There is an option in Pythia to also calculate the ππ and Kπ cross sections this way instead of using the default methods of Refs. [57,58], but there are two drawbacks of using this approach. In terms of physics, it is less accurate because it does not take into account interference effects between resonances.…”
