Global fits of the SM parameters

Abstract: I present a global survey of weak mixing angle measurements and other precision experiments and discuss the issue of correlations of the theoretical uncertainties in precision observables. Hadronic vacuum polarization effects complicate global fits in various ways and are also covered alongside some representative fit results.

“…In this respect, DIS provides a unique opportunity for precision measurements in the space-like regime (μ 2 < 0), as discussed in the previous section, see figure 62 ) from LHeC inclusive DIS data using recent averaged values. The results from the LEP collider and the SLC [444], the Tevatron [446], the LHC [447][448][449][450] and the world average value [450] are all obtained from a combination of various separate measurements (not shown individually) (see also reference [451] for additional discussions). For the LHeC, the experimental and PDF uncertainties are displayed.…”

“…In the on-shell scheme, sin 2 θ W and m W are related to each other and a measurement of one parameter can be interpreted as a determination of the other.
