Abstract:In this paper, we propose a susceptible-infected-susceptible (SIS) epidemic model with demographics on heterogeneous metapopulation networks. We analytically derive the basic reproduction number, which determines not only the existence of endemic equilibrium but also the global dynamics of the model. The model always has the disease-free equilibrium, which is globally asymptotically stable when the basic reproduction number is less than unity and otherwise unstable. We also provide sufficient conditions on the… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
