“…Because this peak is not seen in Nb 2 O 5 , it is clearly related to the presence of F atoms in the structure of NbO 2 F. This band could be due to the Nb-F-Nb bridge stretching or modificated Nb-O-Nb vibrations by local distortion. The relatively weak peak at about 480 cm -1 is in the typical frequency range of Nb-F vibrations and could be due to the terminal Nb-F. [22] The peaks below 400 cm -1 , i.e. those at 358 cm -1 and 196 cm -1 , could be attributed to the entire Nb(O/F) 6 octahedron vibration and the metal ions inside the octahedron/tetrahedron, respectively.…”
