Abstract:Stress and deformation of cathode ray tubes (CRTs) under atmospheric pressure and implosion protection band tightening were analyzed using a finite element method (FEM). The stress and deformation of the tubes were measured experimentally by using strain gages and three-dimensional position measuring techniques.
