Glass-Filled Composite Materials Based on Polyarylene Ether Sulfones

Abstract: This article provides a literature overview of glass-filled polyarylene sulfones. The main properties of polyarylene ether sulfones and applications are given. The industrially produced brands of glass-filled composites and their properties are shown. A problem of low interfacial interaction between polymer and fiberglass and the ways to increase was considered. Also the results of development of glass-filled composites based on polyphenylene sulfone for using in additive technologies, in particular 3D-printin… Show more

“…The fibers create a reinforcing network within the material, effectively fortifying the structure and providing increased resistance to bending, torsion, and impact. These properties make glass-filled filaments ideal for applications that demand robustness, such as functional prototypes, industrial components, or mechanical parts subjected to higher stress levels [ 87 , 88 ].…”

“…Polyarylsulfones are transparent materials that are amber in color. One of the representatives of polyarylsulfones is polyphenylene sulfone (PPSU), which is used as a structural material for operation in severe operating conditions, for the manufacture of parts in the aerospace industry and in the automotive industry [3][4][5]. PPSU is also used for the manufacture of components for chemical and oil refining equipment, but the resistance to sterilization and disinfection gives this material a special value.…”
