“…As seen in this case, it has a separate origin from the right sinus of Valsalva in about 50% of the population. The left conus branch is the first and the largest of several right ventricular branches originating from the proximal left anterior descending coronary artery [1]. In rare instances, these two branches can anastomose to form a collateral pathway between the right and left heart.…”

“…When present, arterial rings are usually seen in cases of proximal left anterior descending artery (LAD) occlusion. It is rarely seen in cases of right coronary artery (RCA) occlusion [1].Here we present the case of a patient with a Vieussens' Arterial Ring identified in the absence of significant LAD or RCA occlusion with a hypoplastic left coronary arterial system. To the best of our knowledge, these findings have not been previously documented in the literature.…”

“…There have been 2 reported cases of this condition. 1,2 This is the first reported case in such a large aneurysm of the Vieussens' arterial ring. This patient also demonstrated the complementary role of different investigations in working up the rare diagnosis of a common presentation.…”

“…Vieussens’ name is still used frequently in cardiovascular medicine today. His namesake valve in the heart was first described in his 1706 publication (Vieussens, 1706): Vieussens’ arterial ring provides collateral blood flow to the left coronary artery system in cases of proximal left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion (O’Leary et al ., 1998; Kocica et al ., 2004). This arterial ring involves the anastomosis between the right and left conal arteries.…”
