“…Undoubtedly, these ulcers are prone to the complications of bleeding and perforation and pose considerable problems for the surgeon. Of 28 such patients treated surgically, Morrow et al 21 report a complication rate of 43 per cent and an 11 per cent mortality. Of the five patients who rebled after surgery in our series, four bled from giant chronic DUs.…”
