Abstract: Purpose of review Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is an idiopathic and persistent condition characterized by granulomatous vasculitis of the medium and large vessels with overlapping phenotypes, including conventional cranial arteritis and extra-cranial GCA, also known as large-vessel GCA.
