“…No thermochronologic data have been generated from 1LQ, but AFT and AHe data from 6LQ and 7LQ ~40 km west along strike suggest cooling from >80°C after 10-12 Ma (Li et al, 2015). Heat flow values of 88-242 mW m -2 ~150 km to the east of 1LQ (Francheteau et al, 1984), rapid cooling at 10 Ma and estimated paleogeothermal gradients as high as 400°C/km ~200 km west of 1LQ (Mahéo et al, 2007), and abundant hot springs along the India-Asia suture zone (Ji-Yang et al, 1981) all suggest the possibility of high temperatures and/or high-temperature fluid interactions at modest burial depths.
