GEOSTAT application design for rapid determination of MATLAB-based earthquake risk level

Abstract

In order to support the rapid determination, assessment and research of a major earthquake event that occurs in an area, a fast, simple and easy application is needed to calculate the level of earthquake risk.The GEOSTAT Application is an application created using the MATLAB program. The GEOSTAT Application can be used to calculate the level of earthquake risk using the Gutenberg and Richter equations which are solved by the least squares method and the maximum likelihood method. This application is designed and built using the MATLAB Graphical User Interface Development (GUIDE) which is created and compiled in a pure script. The GEOSTAT Application can help users calculate the level of earthquake risk quickly and easily which is usually calculated manually. In addition, The GEOSTAT Application provides early warning information related to the analysis of the level of earthquake disaster risk.The GEOSTAT Application can be installed on the user’s device and has good performance so that it can assist users in calculating the level of earthquake risk quickly and easily.
