Geophysical Evaluation Technology for Shale Gas Reservoir: A Case Study in Silurian of Changning Area in Sichuan Basin

Abstract: Shale gas belongs to unconventional natural gas; it has many reservoir evaluation parameters hard to evaluate. Accurate calculation of parameters and comprehensive evaluation of favorable blocks are critical for geological evaluation, well deployment and reservoir reconstruction of shale gas. After research of Silurian Longmaxi Formation in Changning area in Sichuan Basin a petro physics model for shale gas reservoir is established through a large number of core data analysis and a calculation method for reser… Show more

“…Many studies have probed the response of various minerals to geophysical testing methods (Ersoy, 1995;Goktan and Yilmaz, 2005;Yagiz, 2009;Slatt, 2011;Huang et al, 2015;Sanuade et al, 2017). Huang et al (2007) and Fan et al (2015) calculated the mineral content of shale gas reservoirs with the aid of natural gamma ray logging data, uncovering the close relationship of various minerals and radioactive elements.…”
