Geologie, Paläontologie und Geochronologie des Eem-Beckens Neumark-Nord 2 und Vergleich mit dem Becken Neumark-Nord 1 (Geiseltal, Sachsen-Anhalt)

Abstract: Abstract. Show more

“…Along the NN2 HP7 stratigraphical succession freshwater molluscs dominated the mollusc fauna (Strahl et al . ; Kuijper ). Especially abundant were the species B. tentaculata (used in this study), Valvata piscinalis , Radix ovata , Anisus spirorbis , Gyraulus acronicus and Gyraulus crista .…”

“…The Eemian warm stage is represented by lake deposits and peats in peripheral sinks of lignite diapirs in the Geisel valley (Neumark-Nord) (Litt 1994, Strahl et al 2010, cf. Mania et al 2010.…”

“…The NN2 basin is formed within a Saalian sandy-gravel diamicton, and its infill is covered by ca. 6 m of Last Glacial (Weichselian) loess (Sier et al 2011;Strahl et al 2010). Palynological, malacological and micromorphological analyses suggest that within this basin a rather small pond of shallow water formed, with changing water table level with a tendency for drying up in certain seasons or over short periods (Bakels 2014;Kuijper 2014;Mücher 2014;Pop et al, 2015).…”
