“…The GC extracts from the Inco Winisk cores in northern Ontario indicate that the Boas River Formation has higher pristine-to-phytane (Pr/Ph) ratios than those of the Ordovician source rocks in the northern part of the Hudson Bay (average ratios of 1.1 and 0.62, respectively; Zhang, 2011b; Lavoie et al, 2013). The Pr/Ph values of the Boas River Formation suggest reducing conditions, although not as severe as those indicated for the Red Head Rapids shales.…”
