Geolocation based air pollution mobile monitoring system

Abstract: Air pollution is conducted to harmful substances like solid particles, gases or liquid droplets. More pollutants CO, SO2, NOx, CO2.This research is proposed the design and implementation of mobile, low cost and accurate air pollution monitoring system using Arduino microcontroller and gas sensor like MQ2, MQ131, MQ135, MQ136, DHT22, measuring materials mentioned above, smoke, Acetone, Alcohol, LPG, Toluene, temperature, humidity and GPS sensor”NEO-6M” that track the location of air pollution data, and display … Show more

“…Air pollutant levels are converted into air quality indexes and categories for each pollutant [30]. In this study, the server calculates the index value of the NO2 concentration value sent from the node using the (3) by referring to Table 4 to determine the two breakpoint values that cover the observed concentration (𝐶 𝑝 ) [14].…”

“…The data collected can be processed to estimate pollution levels, alarms, and warning systems based on ambient temperature and relative humidity [13]. The air pollution monitoring system developed by [14] increased spatial resolution and described the variability of pollutant gas concentrations in various locations by embedding GPS on the monitoring device.…”

“…Another successful application was presented in [31], which introduced an internet of things (IoT)-based air pollution monitoring system utilizing the Malaysian air pollution index. Furthermore, Talib and Jasim [32] proposed a mobile and cost-effective air pollution monitoring system using Arduino microcontrollers and gas sensors. Tan et al [33], machine learning methods and a time series regression model were utilized to predict PM10 concentrations in a dusty region of the Tibetan plateau.…”
