Geoecological Monitoring on the Territory of Underground Disposal Sites of Highly Mineralized Waters in Western Yakutia

Abstract: The safe disposal of highly mineralized runoff in the development of indigenous diamond deposits in Western Yakutia is the most important task of ensuring a favorable geo-ecological situation in the region. Using the example of a large experimental material collected at the industrial site of the Udachninsky mining and processing plant, PJSC ALROSA, the geoecological situation in the area of underground drainage water disposal sites was assessed. Under the conditions of a complex and dynamic cryohydrogeologica… Show more

“…Weddellite and whewellite were found on the territory of the Daldyn kimberlite field at the boundary of the organic horizon and moss-lichen cushion in the industrial site of the mining and processing plant. Sample 984 was found on the territory located between the slurry pipeline of highly mineralized water disposal in a natural permafrost reservoir and a complex designed for the storage or disposal of waste from kimberlites [60]. Therein the largest amount of coating consisting of weddellite was found.…”

“…The territory is located within the eastern part of the Vilyui high plain of the Central Siberian plateau. The absolute values of watersheds vary from 655 to 755 m. The relief of the trap plateau is hilly and gently sloping with an absolute elevation of 400-500 m and a relative elevation above the nearest watercourses of 100-250 m [23].…”
