“…Sam ple GJ117 co mes from the vein which is par al lel to the old est fo li a tion and the age ob tained from this sam ple (351 ±1.3 Ma) cor re lates well with the Pb-Pb zir con evap o ra tion age of 353 ±1 Ma pro vided by Skrzypek et al (2014) from the same rock va ri ety. It is also in a good agreement with the U-Pb zir con age from sam ple OS399 re ported by Jastrzêbski et al (2018), which was dis carded by the au thors as be ing 12 My older than the ages from the rest of their sam ples.…”

“…The MG geo chem i cal fea tures sug gest that they are de rived from a more fel sic source. Low ini tial e Nd val ues, and high ini tial 87 Sr/ 86 Sr for the Jawornik granitoids shown by Jastrzêbski et al (2018) were in ter preted by these au thors as in di ca tors of their or i gin by par tial melt ing of the lower crust, which is con sis tent with the above ob ser va tions.…”

“…Proterozoic and late Archean peaks (i.e.,~1,500, 2,000, and 2,700 Ma) found in the eastern Moldavides nappes are characteristic for the foreland units of the Carpathian orogen: the East European platform basement (Figure 3h), the East European Neoproterozoic sedimentary cover (Figure 3i), the Moesian platform (Figure 3f), and North Dobrogea (Figure 3e). The igneous and metamorphic Carboniferous peaks of 320 -340 Ma (Figures 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d, 10e, and 10h) are rare among the studied basement of the Carpathians and foreland units of Romania (Ducea et al, 2018) but are characteristic for some other areas of the mobile Paleozoic Europe, such as the igneous rocks from the Bohemian Massif (Jastrzębski et al, 2018), among several others. This interval, broadly referred to as Variscan, is when major Barrovian collisional metamorphim took place in the Dacia mega-unit and contains only limited, low temperature leucogranitic magmatism (Balintoni et al, 2014).…”
