“…The gradual disintegration of the Rodinia supercontinent gradually formed the Laurasia, Gondwana and Pan‐Cathaysia continents in coexisting distribution, as well as the Palaeo‐Atlantic, Palaeo‐Asian and Tethys Oceans between them, it mainly manifests as a metamorphic basement formed by convergent orogeny nearly a billion years ago (Pan et al, 2012; Wang, Lü, Cao, et al, 2021). The Neoproterozoic Qingbaikou Epoch is a clastic carbonate formation containing a large number of algal stromatolites and micropalaeoplant fossils.…”

“…The Dawazi 417–429 Ma bimodal volcanic rocks developed in Dazhonghe, east of the Changning‐Menglian Suture Zone (Liu et al, 2018; Mao et al, 2012). Moreover, the 430–413 Ma bimodal volcanic rocks (Wang, Qian, Cawood, et al, 2021) and 429 Ma volcanic rocks (Lehmann et al, 2013) in Dapingzhang, east of Dazhonghe, formed in a back‐arc basin through the Proto‐Tethyan Ocean eastern subduction (Figure 1b). Thus, the Proto‐Tethyan Ocean eastern subduction in the late Early Palaeozoic restricted the Silurian Sanjiang arc‐basin system tectonic pattern and opened the prelude to Late Palaeozoic Sanjiang multi‐island arc basin system formation and evolution (Figure 13d).…”
