“…However, the range of isotopic ratios observed in the Jejudo and Yeong-il samples in nearly encompassed by the range observed in the northwestern Kyushu vol canic rocks (Morris et al, 1997). Meanwhile, the ENd values from the Ulreungdo samples plotted in the more negative field than those of southwest ern Japan, which is similar to that of the Tristan da Cunha, known as a enriched mantle type show ing typical DUPAL anomaly characteristics (Cliff et al, 1991 Tatsumoto and Nakamura (1991) studied al kali volcanic rocks from the Ulreungdo and Dogdo and reported Nd, Sr and Pb isotopic compositions. Based on these data they conclude that alkali basalts with the EMI characteristics of the Ulreungdo and Dogdo originated from old mantle lithosphere which was metasomatized early (prior to the Proterozoic) with subduction-related fluids.…”

“…The Nd-Sr isotopic data from this study are compared with data from Oki Dozen and south west Japan (Morris et al, 1997) and Japanese is land Wasserbug, 1981, 1986;White and Patchett, 1984;Fujibayashi et al, 1988;Morris and Kagami, 1989;Nakamura et al, 1990;Tatsumodo and Nakamura, 1991) and Tristan da Cunha (White and Hofmann, 1982;Cliff et al, 1991). According to Tatsumoto and Nakamura (1991) and Morris et al (1997), Japanese volcanic rocks have divided into two compositional groups.…”
