Geo-environmental factors’ influence on mining operation: an indirect effect of managerial factors

Abstract: The purpose of the paper is to identify factors associated with operational factor (OF), geo-environmental factor (GEF), and managerial factor (MF) from the literature. After identification, the study intended to assess the impact of geo-environmental factors and managerial factors on operational factors of the mining industry. The study also tests the indirect effect of managerial factors between GEF and OF in the Indian environment. The geographical boundary of the study was 06 large mines of Odisha, Jharkha… Show more

“…In this case, the amount of waste material in the deposit and the energy consumption of mining equipment (including transportation and processing equipment) influence variable costs, similar to in the work by Mishra, P.C. et al [38]. This influence may result in a reduction in the environmental factor in the form of a lower volume of heap masses (less environmental degradation).…”

“…[37] described the impact of cost variability on a mining project. Meanwhile, Mishra, P. C. et al [38] described the impact of various factors on the performance of mining operations. Uberman, R. [39] and Mancini, S. et al [40] wrote about the demand for recycled raw materials and secondary deposits in the EU.…”

“…There are different industries such as mining industry that their operations span the globe and constitute a cornerstone of numerous industrial sectors (Tausova et al, 2017). The enduring productivity in such industries has raised concerns, prompting the exploration of factors sustaining this phenomenon (Humphreys, 2020;Mishra et al, 2023). Analogous to other manufacturing sectors, these industries necessitates a rigorous focus on productivity.…”
