Genotypic peculiarities of a human brucellosis case caused by Brucella suis biovar 5

Abstract: Human brucellosis cases are rare in non-endemic countries, such as Germany, where infections are predominantly caused by Brucella melitensis. The German National Reference Laboratory for Bovine, Porcine, Ovine and Caprine Brucellosis received a suspected Brucella sp. isolate from a patient for identification.
