Genotoxicity

Abstract: Genotoxicity describes all the potential means by which the genetic material of higher organisms may be damaged. Most forms of genotoxicity are expressions of mutagenicity (the induction of DNA damage and other genetic alterations with changes in DNA base pairs) and clastogenicity. This article focuses on test systems for mutagenicity and cytogenetic changes and ICH guidelines for genotoxicity tests of drugs.
