Abstract: Sabah, Malaysia, has amongst the highest burden of human Plasmodium knowlesi infection in the country, associated with increasing encroachment on the parasite’s macaque host habitat. However, the genomic make-up of P. knowlesi in Sabah was previously poorly understood.
