“…The distributional range of our target species (T. govanianum) is restricted to the areas which are part of Himalayan biodiversity hotspot (Vidyarthi et al 2013). The narrow geographic range and increasing commercial demand (Dhyani et al 2020), over exploitation (Ganie et al 2019), unmanaged harvesting (Chauhan et al 2017), make this species quite vulnerable to other distrurbances emnating from land-use transformations and climate change that further push it towards high altitudes thereby further narrowing its narrow distribution range (Telwala et al 2013;Chettri et al 2018a, b). Land-use change has negative influence on biodiversity (Ordonez et al 2014) by altering the ecosystem services, climate and carbon cycle (Li et al 2019) thereby intensifying the surge of invasion by alien species (Helmus et al 2014).…”
