Abstract: Drug treatment for nociceptive musculoskeletal pain (NMP) follows a three-step analgesic ladder proposed by the World Health Organization (WHO), starting from non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), followed by weak or strong opioids until the pain is under control.
