Genome-Wide Analysis of Auxin Receptor Family Genes in Brassica juncea var. tumida

Abstract: Transport inhibitor response 1/auxin signaling f-box proteins (TIR1/AFBs) play important roles in the process of plant growth and development as auxin receptors. To date, no information has been available about the characteristics of the TIR1/AFB gene family in Brassica juncea var. tumida. In this study, 18 TIR1/AFB genes were identified and could be clustered into six groups. The genes are located in 11 of 18 chromosomes in the genome of B. juncea var. tumida, and similar gene structures are found for each of… Show more

“…It has been stated that up to 87% amino acid identity exists in the well‐genome annotated plant species Arabidopsis thaliana , whereas 98% was reported in AFB of Brassica juncea var. tumida 9,35,36 . Hence, the present study evaluated single nucleotide polymorphisms for only TIR1 and AFB genes.…”

“…Tumorous stem mustard is an economically important food crop; however, its yield is affected by many abiotic stresses ( Cai et al, 2019 ; Li et al, 2019 ). As one of the largest transcription factor families in plant species, the NAC family plays an important role in plant growth, development, and biotic and abiotic stress responses ( Seo & Park, 2010 ; Nakashima et al, 2012 ).…”

“…acephala) resulted in the reduction of downy mildew symptoms caused by Peronospora brassicae, indicating that this gene may develop a network with regulatory genes to offer resistance to downy mildew disease [ 53 ]. In contrast, BjuTIR1/AFB family genes are the auxin receptor genes that were found to be greatly induced by P. brassicae treatment, indicating that upregulation of auxin receptor genes may positively regulate clubroot formation [ 54 ]. In this study, induced expression levels of BrDCK1 gene by 5.3- and 2.5-fold in Seosan-inoculated plants compared to mock-treated plants at 3 dpi and 14 dpi, respectively, indicate that this gene has importance in both primary infection and cortex infection ( Figure 4 and Figure 8 ).…”
