Abstract:Epigenetic genome engineering expands our capabilities from modifying the DNA sequence to controlling its regulation. It provides the ability to change epigenetic marks at defined genomic loci to control gene expression without the need for an intervention in the genetic code. This short review touches on current approaches of epigenetic editing with a focus on long-term gene silencing.
