Abstract: Sterol regulatory element binding proteins (SREBPs) are membrane‐bound transcription factors that control lipid homeostasis in mammalian cells. Sterols regulate the activation of SREBP by inhibiting ER‐Golgi transport of SREBP and proteolysis in the Golgi.
