Abstract: Objective Prostaglandins (PGs) play a major role in maintaining patency of the ductal arteriosus (DA). Pulmonary 15-hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (PGDH), which is ecoded by the hydroxyprostaglandin dehydrogenase (HPGD) gene, is the primary enzyme responsible for PG breakdown.
