“…Our modification of the HeLa cell assay was more sensitive and specific than the Veto cell assay and allows distinction between cytotoxic effects caused by CNF1 and CNF2 toxins. However, the Vero cell assay is semitive to LT enterotoxin and any type of verot,xin, whereas HeLa cells do not respond to LT enterotoxin and are sensitive only to particular verotoxins [17][18][19]. As would be suspected we have found also that culture filtrates from mitomycin C treated ETEC and Antiserum dilutions used in seroneutralization experiments.…”
