Abstract: In order to elucidate the origin of coalbed methane (CBM) in the Jiergalangtu block of Erlian Basin, Inner Mongolia of China, gas components, stable isotope tests of 22 gas samples, radioisotope dating measurements, and water quality analysis of 15 coproduced water samples were evaluated.
