Abstract:The influence of layered ocean structure on the tsunami generation under action of seismic sources is studied in the long‐wave approximation. The ocean consists of two incompressible inviscid heavy fluid layers with close densities (its bottom assumed to be linearly elastic). Three harmonic sources are considered: center of rotation or of dilatation, and momentless double dipole. On the basis of integral transformation method, and of asymptotic expansions, three waves (Rayleigh, tsunami, and interface one) are… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
