Generalized Space Time Block Coded Spatial Modulation for Open-Loop Massive MIMO Downlink Communication Systems

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a generalized space-time block coded spatial modulation (GSTBC-SM) scheme for openloop massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) downlink communication systems. Specifically, we firstly partition the information bits into multiple groups with each group modulated by the spatial modulation (SM), where the SM symbols are invoked for orthogonal STBC (OSTBC) and quasi-orthogonal STBC (Q-OSTBC) structures. Then, message passing (MP) and block minimum mean square equalization (B-MMS… Show more

“…As observed from ( 15), (20), and ( 21), the proposed design relies on determining the expectation of each user's transmission matrix Ω π(k) (ι) , μ(k) (ι) . How to compute this matrix in practice is a question that emerges.…”

“…The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation analysis and real experimental data collected from an indoor pool communication trial. A generalized space-time block coded spatial modulation scheme for open-loop massive multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) downlink communication systems was proposed [ 33 ]. The information bits are divided into multiple groups with each group modulated by the spatial modulation(SM), where the SM symbols are invoked for OSTBC and quasi-orthogonal STBC structures.…”
