O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar a relevância do diagnóstico precoce da endometriose junto aos seus benefícios, bem como retratar a importância da atuação ativa da equipe da enfermagem durante o tratamento. O endométrio é um dos tecidos do corpo humano que tem fases e espessuras diferentes, sendo localizado na parte mais interna do útero. A endometriose é uma doença inflamatória crônica e dolorosa que se faz presente quando as células do endométrio seguem um fluxo diferente do esperado durante a menstruação, onde ao invés de serem expelidas pelo útero nesse momento, quando existe a condição de endometriose, as células irão migrar para outros locais da pelve principalmente nas trompas de falópio, ovários ou bexiga, sendo assim vai haver um funcionamento anormal do organismo. Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática da literatura com abordagem qualitativa, associado a um estudo temporal e epidemiológico dos casos notificados da realização de exames de endometriose e seus achados. Para que se tenha uma atuação profissional de forma eficaz por parte da equipe que faz a assistência com a paciente, com enfoque na enfermagem que está mais próxima, é fundamental que esses profissionais estejam cada vez mais capacitados a respeito da doença, de como acomete as mulheres, fazer um mapeamento das mulheres mais sucessíveis e o porquê, para que assim seja traçado um manejo de cuidado e diagnóstico precoce.

Endometriosis is an inflammatory chronic pain condition caused by uterine tissue growing outside of the uterus that afflicts at least 11% of women (and people assigned female at birth) worldwide. This condition results in a substantial burden to these women, and society at large. Although endometriosis was first identified over 160 years ago, substantial knowledge gaps remain, including confirmation of the disease's etiology. Research funding for endometriosis is limited, with funding from bodies like the National Institutes of Health (NIH) constituting only 0.038% of the 2022 health budget—for a condition that affects 6.5 million women in the US alone and over 190 million worldwide. A major issue is that diagnosis of endometriosis is frequently delayed because surgery is required to histologically confirm the diagnosis. This delay increases symptom intensity, the risk of central and peripheral sensitization and the costs of the disease for the patient and their nation. Current conservative treatments of presumed endometriosis are pain management and birth control. Both of these methods are flawed and can be entirely ineffective for the reduction of patient suffering or improving ability to work, and neither addresses the severe infertility issues or higher risk of certain cancers. Endometriosis research deserves the funding and attention that befits a disease with its substantial prevalence, effects, and economic costs. This funding could improve patient outcomes by introducing less invasive and more timely methods for diagnosis and treatment, including options such as novel biomarkers, nanomedicine, and microbiome alterations.

Endometriosis is a long-lasting state in which endometrial-like tissue is found outside the uterus often on the reproductive organs, bowel, and bladder. Aimed to: To find out the extent to which Libyan women know about endometriosis. Martial & Methods: During the one-year study period [2021 to 2022], answer the questions of questionnaire and interview. Result: Most of the ages were between (16 - 25 Years) 1353(73.5 %), most Education Levels (University) 1357(73.8 %), and Marital Situation the most were (Single) 1467(79.7 %). frequency and percent of Knowledge Questions Most of the answers were “I don’t know” and the answer was “No.” This indicates a lack of information about endometriosis, who suffer from endometrioses were the highest percent 75.5 %, I Don`t know 21.2 %. Percent of education the answer I don`t know 19.4 %, and by no 26.1 %. The Correlations between Knowledge and Education Levels, the p-value > 0.05 means there is no relationship between education level and knowledge of endometriosis. Conclusion: that the educational level has nothing to do with the extent of awareness among women about endometriosis, and therefore we find that the percentage of those suffering from endometriosis is very high, and that women need a lot of awareness and knowledge about the endometriosis disease.
